Live Music, Bingo and Meat Raffles are back!

Good News — Live music is back again at JJ’s Pub every Saturday 5-9pm! Commander Bar Bingo starts again on Thursday, April 15th at 6:30pm, and the JJ’s Pub Friday Night Meat Raffles will be back starting on April 23rd at 5:30pm! Come see us!

We’re Back on January 11th!

Hey everyone, we’ll be open again at 6:30am on Monday! Our hours at the Commander will be Sunday 6:30am to 10:00pm & Weds thru Saturday 6:30am to 10:00pm (Kitchen closes at 9pm) and Mon-Tues 6:30am to 2:00pm (Kitchen closes at 1pm). JJ’s Pub hours will be Mon-Tues 2:00pm to 10:00pm (Kitchen is closed, but Heggies pizza is available). Weds thru Friday 4:00pm to 10:00pm, Saturday Noon to 10:00pm, and closed on Sunday. The same rules regarding social distancing and mask wearing are still in place, but we will be able to have limited bar seating. Unfortunately, no Bar Bingo, Meat Raffles, or live music for a while yet, but we hope to have those back soon. We’ve missed you and can’t wait to see you! 😁

Another Shutdown….

Join us for Commander Bar Bingo tonight at 6:30pm. The jackpot is $700 in 52 numbers or less. This will be the last bingo for a few weeks so we hope to see you here! As most of you know, the latest restrictions set to go into effect Friday require that we close to indoor dining at least until Dec. 18th. So, we’ll be open until 10pm on Friday, and we will have takeout only available Saturday and Sunday from noon to 8pm. (Our menu is available on the button to the right) We may continue that into early next week depending on inventory, but we will definitely be closed completely from Thanksgiving through December 18th. We will keep you posted with further updates as we go. Thanks again for your support!

Notice to Our Customers

Due to the new restrictions announced by the Governor this week regarding no bar seating and further reduced occupant capacity, starting this weekend we will not have live music at JJ’s Pub on Saturday nights for the next several weeks. We’re also required to close at 10pm every night (but we’ll still be here every morning bright and early at 6:30am for breakfast!). We’ll be sure to keep you posted as things change, and we thank you for hanging in there with us!

Commander Bar Bingo is Back!

Great news — Commander Bar Bingo is starting again on Thursday, October 29th! The jackpot will be at $500 in 52 numbers or less, and there will be limited seating so get your spot early. Bingo starts at 6:30pm. Come out for some fun and support the Pelican Lakes Conservation Club!

Happy July 4th!

Don’t miss the return of live music to JJ’s Pub when we welcome the Mark Stary Duo this Saturday from 5pm to 9pm! We hope to see you and we wish everyone a happy and safe July 4th holiday!

Commander & JJ’s Pub Updated Hours

Thank you to everyone for a great return to some indoor seating this past week! It was great to see so many friends inside the restaurant again, and we also thank you for being patient with us during this transitional time. While we recognized before that we could not return with meat raffles, bingo, or bands, at only 50% occupancy and under all of the other current rules ordered by the Governor, we failed to predict how difficult it would be to continue with our late night business under those circumstances. The fact is, we cannot expect customers that are out specifically to socialize and have fun, to instead follow all the government mandated rules. And for that very reason, we have decided to return to an 11pm closing time, at least until the current rules change allowing us to operate more normally. We simply do not want our late night staff trying to argue about social distancing rules while people are out trying to have fun, especially when it’s over mandated rules that we do not agree with ourselves. Thank you for understanding. We hope to be open late, with the live entertainment that you’ve come to expect, very soon. So for now, the Commander will be open until 10pm every day, and JJ’s will be open until 11pm Mon-Sat. We look forward to seeing you!

The Commander & JJ’s are Open!

The Commander will be open for breakfast at 6:30am daily starting Weds, June 10th! 😁 We’ll be open Mon-Thurs until 10pm, Fri-Sat until 11pm, and Sunday until 2am. The kitchen is open every night until 10pm, and take-out is still available too. Commander Happy Hours are back again on Fridays from 1pm to 4pm! And JJ’s Pub is open Mon-Fri 4pm to 2am, and Saturday from noon to 2am! We are limited to 50% occupancy, so bar bingo, meat raffles and live music are still postponed for a while until we’re allowed to be at 100%, but we’re open for food and drink and we hope to see you soon!! 🍺🍕🍔🍹

The Commander is Open for Takeout!

We’re happy to announce that the Commander will be open for takeout starting at noon on Thursday, May 14th! Our hours will be Monday through Weds from noon to 7:00pm, and Thursday through Sunday from noon to 11:00pm. Pickup will be through the front door only, a maximum of 5 people will be able to be inside at a time, and we ask everyone to practice safe social distancing. Many of your favorites are on our new takeout menu (click the button on the right), so if you’ve been craving a Commander Garbage Pizza, now’s your chance! Call 218-562-4198 to order.

April Update

Hello everyone! As you most likely already know, our closure has been extended by the Governor until May 4th. Unfortunately that means that the Commander Golf Tournament, which was supposed to take place on April 25th, has been cancelled for this year. Sadly, we also have to cancel our Customer Appreciation Day on May 2nd. For the past couple years, this event has been on the same day as the Breezy Point Airport’s Aviation Day, and we’ve just heard that has been cancelled as well.

But here’s some good news to hopefully brighten your day! The band that was scheduled to play at the Commander this weekend is going to be steaming from our Facebook page this Friday night. That’s right – “Shirts & Skins” will be live-streaming a show on the Commander Facebook page at 8:30pm on Friday, April 10th! So grab a drink, move the living room furniture so you have plenty of dancing space and join us for a Friday night party with “Shirts & Skins”!
